Provence Wine Tours Avignon France

Why should you come to Provence and take a Wine Tour with Provence and Wine?

La Provence is a very diversified region in France near the mediteranean sea. Provence is also closed to the mountains and near the rhône river. The region Provence includes 4 different counties: Vaucluse (84), Les Bouches du Rhône (13), Les Alpes de Haute Provence (04), Le Var (83). The climate is mediteranean with a lot of sun but also the Mistral wind which participate to dry the landscapes.

In Provence there is plenty of Roman ruins because the area has a old history which goes back to the antiquity: Glanum in Saint rémy de Provence, the roman bridge (Pont du Gard), the roman arenes in Nimes and Arles, the theaters in Orange and Vaison la Romaine.

The landscapes are picturesques and made of Vineyards, olive groves, orchards, lavender fields, green oak and guarrigue. That is in this environement where the beautiful and notorious perched villages of Provence takes place.

The region is also known for Avignon the city of Popes which is also the capital of the Côtes du Rhône wines and ideally located in Provence to take a wine tour and visit the famous vineyards of the region like Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas or Vacqueyras.

La Provence would not be as well known without its excellent gastronomie and cuisine. Staying in Avignon is the opportunity to dicover the iconic markets of Provence, the good Provencal Brasseries and their Provencal specialties and also to take Food tour or a cooking class.
